Allow me to big up my absolute favourite houseplant, Oxalis triangularis, commonly known as the Love plant. It looks super chic, with inky purple triangular leaves, that neatly fold open and closed to mark the beginning and end of each day. This action really reminds you that you are in the presence of another living wonder, and its gentle presence is very comforting.
I’ve learnt that the key to keeping your Love plant happy is to not over water them, because they can quickly become waterlogged and this will drive them to a soggy end. If yours is beginning to look sad then my advice is to re-pot it, and let the soil dry right out between waterings.
In this video I show you how to divide and pot on your Love plant. This is a great thing to do if your plant has grown so rapidly that it is now bursting out of its original pot, which is something they tend to do when they are happy.
